The client is a major non-profit health care system encompassing nine acute care hospitals, over one-hundred service sites, 1,300 physicians and approximately 9,000 benefit eligible employees. In Spring 2010, the client began its selection process to identify an enrollment company that could conduct their upcoming annual enrollment. Their criteria included knowledge of supplemental benefits, technical expertise, knowledge of the health care industry and proven customer service.  After assessing several firms, WorkPlace Solutions was selected to be their benefit communication and enrollment choice.

Analysis of the client’s current plans was conducted to determine which supplemental benefits would best enhance the client’s current offering.  Discussions resulted in adding Whole Life, Critical Illness, and Cancer supplemental benefits.

We developed a comprehensive benefit booklet containing detailed information on all benefits to be offered at enrollment. The booklet was distributed to each employee prior to enrollment.  Enrollment spanned four weeks. Employees could enroll via three options – self-serve, meet one-on-one with a Benefit Specialist, or call our Customer Care Center.

Enrollment was highly successful with over 60% of employees who participated in the enrollment process, selecting one of the supplemental benefits. Based on our success, we continue to provide annual enrollment services to this client.
